When you use the Service, we may collect log and usage data such as your IP address, device and browser characteristics, app identifiers, access times, features used, actions taken, crash reports, and other diagnostic information. We use this information to operate, secure, and improve the Service and to prevent fraud or abuse.

Information from other household members. A household organizer or another authorized household member may provide your name, contact information, task assignments, or invitation details so the Service can coordinate shared household work. Each user is responsible for having permission to provide another person's information.

2. How We Use Information

We use information to:

• Provide, maintain, personalize, and improve the Service.
• Create and secure accounts and household groups.
• Assign, schedule, track, and confirm chores and household tasks.
• Send notifications and communications you request or authorize.
• Respond to questions, support requests, and feedback.

• Enforce our Terms of Service and comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use Service data for third-party advertising.

• With members of your household when the feature you use is designed to share it, such as a chore assignment, note, or completion update.
• With service providers that perform services on our behalf, such as hosting, authentication, email, SMS delivery, customer support, security, and analytics. These providers may use information only to provide their contracted services to us.
• When required by law, legal process, or a valid government request, or when reasonably necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Performance Chores, our users, or the public.
• In connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, subject to applicable law and continued protection of previously collected information.
• With your direction or consent.

We do not share personal information with third parties for their own marketing.

4. SMS and Text Messaging

If you opt in to SMS messages, we process your mobile number, opt-in record, and messaging preferences to deliver authorized chore reminders, household updates, account or security notices, verification codes, and service updates. We share this information only with providers that help us deliver and support those messages.

5. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain security and business records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods vary based on the type of information and why it was collected. We may delete or anonymize information when it is no longer needed, subject to legal and operational requirements.

6. Security

We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information we process. No method of storage or Internet transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for protecting your credentials and promptly notifying us of suspected unauthorized account access at info@performancechores.com.

7. Your Choices and Rights

You may review and update certain account information through the Service. You can manage app notifications through your device or account settings. You can opt out of SMS messages by replying STOP, and you can unsubscribe from promotional email using the link in the message when one is provided.

The Service is designed for household use. A parent or legal guardian is responsible for creating or managing any profile for a child and for providing any consent required by law. Children under 13 may not create an account independently. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent. If you believe a child provided information without appropriate consent, contact us so we can review and delete it as required by law.
